about
Following the international success of their 2010 debut album, "My Nothing," Post Adolescence returns with their first in a series of singles. “Don’t Walk Away” twists the tender heart of 50s rock 'n' roll with the throttle of post-modern garage pop. Indulgent verses evoke the sweetness of your first kiss at the sockhop, while choruses thrust you immediately to third base in the backseat of your Edsel. Recorded at Soul Kitchen Studios in Seattle and produced by Mark Clem, "Don't Walk Away" was specifically recorded for and featured on the 2011 International Pop Overthrow Festival compilation CD.
lyrics
Staring at the ceiling,
Afraid to feel anything.
I'd call you, but I'm ashamed.
It could have been said and done,
But I had to have my fun
And leave this mess behind,
With no one left to clean it up.
But you can't walk, you can't walk away
Every time I say that I'm losing my mind again.
I am the epitome
Of too little too late, you see?
A physical embodiment.
It could have been said and won,
But I had to have my fun
And leave this all behind.
There's nothing left, it's just decay.
The canvas, the canvas was blank.
I'm a damned fool, I threw it away
For the sake of my bleeding heart.
This can't be, this can't be the end.
I apologize my friend
For the pain that I left in your heart.

Drawing from 80s post-punk sounds of the Buzzcocks, Placebo, and Manic Street Preachers, Post Adolescence and their album
“My Nothing” demonstrate a British Post-Punk-Glam sound that belongs only to them. These pure pop sounds find the “young and angry” pleasure center for which all of us lust. In the truest sense, they are at the leading edge of the next wave of the post-modern rock movement....more
In Adrian Snood’s songs, soulful vocals and slow-moving alt-pop swirl together to create something distinctly moving. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 1, 2023
